While growth and development continue to present challenges for Greenville County leaders, the biggest County Council push in 2024 was aimed at getting a capital projects local option sales tax to address road needs in front of voters for a referendum.
There is one fact Greenville’s residents and elected leaders seem to universally recognize: Growth is happening and is likely to continue, if not accelerate.
Between July 2021 to July 2022, Greenville County grew by 13,429 residents while Spartanburg County had a 10,425 increase, according to the census data.
