The Assembly, a women’s social club founded in 1923, will present four young women at its 100th Annual Ball on Saturday, Nov. 18 at The Poinsett Club.
Eliza Lesesne Griggs, daughter of Mrs. Blakely Dickson Griggs of New York, New York, and Mr. Wade Garney Griggs III of Houston, Texas, will be presented by her mother. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Eugene McNulty Dickson of Greenville and the late Mr. Dickson, and Mr. and Mrs. Wade Garney Griggs, junior of Houston, Texas. Her grandmother, Mrs. Dickson, is a past president of The Assembly. Her great-grandmother, the late Mrs. Keitt Hane Smith, was a member of The Assembly. Miss Griggs, a student at Tulane University, will be escorted by Mr. Wade Garney Griggs IV of New York.
Morgan Kay Key, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Eugene Key, junior of Simpsonville, will be presented by her mother. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Louis Edward Eiden of Deland, Florida, and the late Mr. Eiden, and Mrs. Charles Eugene Key of Greenville and the late Mr. Key. Her grandmother, Mrs. Key, is a member of The Assembly. Her great-grandmother, the late Mrs. Clinton Heyward Morgan, was a member of The Assembly. Her great-great-grandmother, the late Mrs. James Henry Morgan, junior, was a charter member of The Assembly. Miss Key, a student at Auburn University, will be escorted by Mr. Charles Eugene Key III of Simpsonville.
Eleanor Louise Kneeland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Bryan Kneeland of Simpsonville, will be presented by her mother. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Perry Earle III of Fountain Inn and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Durward Kneeland III of Nashville, Tennessee. Her grandmother, Mrs. Earle III, is a past president of The Assembly. Her great-grandmother, the late Mrs. Oliver Perry Earle, junior, was a past president of The Assembly. Her great-great-grandmother, the late Mrs. Fletcher Jordan, was a charter member of The Assembly. Miss Kneeland, a student at Clemson University, will be escorted by Mr. Matthew Bryan Kneeland, junior of Simpsonville.
Sarah Grace Malphrus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lee Malphrus of Simpsonville, will be presented by her grandmother. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Henry Parker of Columbia and Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCurdy Malphrus, junior of Ware Shoals. Her grandmother, Mrs. Parker, is a member of The Assembly.
