Here’s a recap of the Dec. 12 meeting of Simpsonville City Council.
Approved: 320-unit multifamily development
Council approved a planned development on 43 acres at 533 Harrison Bridge Road.
The developers, HMF Americana, plan to construct Cottage Green, a mixed-use development featuring 320 multifamily units with four commercial parcels along Harrison Bridge Road.
The development will also feature amenities such as a pickleball court, dog park, pool and community kitchen.
Final approval: Downtown festival zoning
Council gave final approval to a measure to refine its zoning ordinance pertaining to a festival street planned in downtown Simpsonville.
The updates would allow for more flexibility in parking and architectural façade improvements, such as removing curbs to create a level surface and allowing balconies or roll-up doors to be added to buildings on the festival street.
