Older generations of Greenvillians will remember People’s National Bank. This handsome building stood along West Washington Street at its intersection with Laurens Street. This was taken out in 1972 when a much larger bank complex was built along the whole street block. The Aloft hotel now occupies the block, but this corner of storefront is currently unoccupied, most recently housing Reid’s Fine Foods but soon to be occupied by The Dutchman restaurant.
