It takes place on one special day, but a yearlong effort is behind Greenville’s Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (LEAD). Organizers and volunteers will be on hand Sept. 15 to honor city, county and state employees from eight area agencies.
Harris is a longtime Greenville-area resident and retired teacher whose legacy is commemorated in a downtown mural. She is also the namesake of the Bon Secours St. Francis Health System Breast Health Center.
Downtown businesses like Bonjour Crêpe, Mast General Store, Poppington's Gourmet Popcorn, Sully's Steamers are participating in the third annual event.
"An Evening with Teddy Roosevelt," the first character study of the year, will start the winter season at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 at the Younts Center for Performing Arts.
