eLearning for schools
Greenville County Schools announced it will have an eLearning day on Jan. 10. Schools and office buildings will be closed and all extracurricular activities are canceled on Friday and Saturday.
According to GCS, the district’s Inclement Conditions Evaluation Team determined from expected forecasts that the predictions and timing for the winter storm may result in unsafe road conditions, downed power lines and loss of electricity.
Instruction on Friday will be provided through Google Classroom. According to the district, the school day will not have to be made up due to GCS being an approved eLearning district. Students unable to participate in instruction due to power outages or other barriers will complete assignments later. Schools will be in contact with eLearning process specifics.
