WOW! recently donated $10,000 to Rebuild Upstate, a Greenville-based nonprofit preserving affordable housing in the community.
The fiberoptic broadband service provider’s donation was used to build a ramp for a local Mauldin homeowner that would allow them to safely access their home. WOW! employees participated in the build project on June 20 to construct the ramp and handrails. The company has also offered the homeowner a year of free internet services.
“We are grateful to WOW! for their generous donation and their work to build a ramp and handrails for a Mauldin resident in support of our mission, and are happy to welcome WOW! to the Upstate,” said Rebuild Upstate CEO Jake Beaty.
WOW! launched its fiber internet services in Mauldin in late 2023. The company plans to expand its services to Five Forks, Fountain Inn and Simpsonville. Dominick Silvio, director of operations for WOW!, said strengthening community connections is integral to the company.
“In addition to positively impacting the community through our broadband services and local involvement, this donation and volunteer day help directly support Rebuild’s vision of enabling an Upstate where everyone has the opportunity to live a life of dignity in a safe home environment,” Silvio said.
