Mission Statement:
Ronald McDonald House plays a crucial role in supporting families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. By providing housing, meals, emotional support and transportation assistance, RMHCC aims to ease the burdens faced by families with sick children, allowing them to focus on what matters most — their child’s well-being.
Ronald McDonald House alleviates the financial burden of finding temporary housing near the hospital, ensuring that family members can remain close to their child. In addition, the supportive environment fosters a comforting sense of community.
For families facing medical crises, RMHCC offers:
- Comfortable accommodations: Ronald McDonald House provides free or low-cost lodging, meals and supportive services. The “home away from home” allows families to remain close to children during medical treatment.
- Emotional support: Families often find solace surrounded by others going through similar experiences.
- Access to resources: These include transportation assistance, laundry facilities and recreational areas.
- Promoting healing: When families are near the hospital, children often feel more secure and cope better with their medical treatments, which helps the healing process.
- Emotional respite: RMHCC provides a retreat for families to take a break from the emotionally overwhelming hospital environment and to recharge and support their mental well-being.
- Long-term relationships: Many families form lasting bonds with other families and staff members.
