It’s big news.
As of March 25, Joan Herlong & Associates Sotheby’s International Realty is the only Sotheby’s affiliate in the Upstate.
Seven years ago, Joan Herlong began with 10 agents. Today, the business has 50 agents and counting, and two offices — one in Patrick Square in Clemson covering Lake Hartwell and Lake Keowee, and a flagship office in McDaniel Greene covering the rest of the Upstate’s 6,000 square miles.
“We cover the Upstate from Newberry to the Georgia line, from Belton to the North Carolina line,” Herlong says. “My goal is not to be the biggest brokerage in the Upstate — that’s never been my business model. My only goal is to be the best brokerage for the best agents in the Upstate.”
Herlong is selective about who she hires.
“Sotheby’s International Realty will not affiliate with just any brokerage, and by the same token, I won’t hire just any Realtor.”
And the results speak for themselves.
