Here’s a recap of Greenville County Council’s Oct. 3 meeting:
Approved: FILOT agreement for new industrial project
In one of its shortest meetings in recent months, the council moved expeditiously through a handful of routine items, among them third and final reading for a fee-in-lieu-of-tax agreement for an industrial project in the southern part of the county.
The agreement between the county and Weimer Bearing & Transmission Inc. anticipates an investment of $4.6 million and creating up to nine new jobs for a new facility on Old Grove Road near the S.C. Technology and Aviation Center.
In other action, the council approved final reading to an ordinance enlarging a joint county business park with Anderson County for a project in that county called The Shores of Asbury and being developed by Lake Hartwell Development Group LLC.
