It may not be the most wonderful time of the year … yet. But it might be for coffee.
From the classic addition of pumpkin puree and spices to the warm flavors of maple, fall kicks off the seasonal celebration of coffee. Sans Souci’s Daydrinkers rang in pumpkin spiced latte season Aug. 29 with its twist of the latte, while others waited for the true start of autumn, Sept. 22.
Here are some other coffee shops around town that feature autumn-drink menus:
- Bridge City Coffee, with locations on Wade Hampton Boulevard, downtown Greenville, Travelers Rest and Spartanburg, dropped its menu Sept. 1. The acclaimed micro roaster released three new drinks: The Great Pumpkin, Sticky Maple latte, and Harvest Moon chai.
- Methodical Coffee, located on Wade Hampton Boulevard, in The Commons and in downtown Greenville, is — as of Sept. 9 — now serving its pumpkin spice latte. The local coffee roaster also hinted in a social media post there may be harvest-themed drinks to come.
- Flying Fox Coffee with Greer and downtown Greenville locations, dropped its seasonal menu Sept. 13. The menu boasts six seasonal drinks as well as waffles and sandwiches at the Greer location. One latte so far has been sampled, the American Spirit Halloween. This latte borrows from the PSL but combines with Flying Fox Coffee’s original Cigarettes and Coffee latte. Trick or treat! Plus, a Friday the 13th release? How very felicitous.
- Junto Coffee in Taylors also dropped its spooky menu on Friday the 13th offering three new lattes: The Bad ’Nanners, The Demure and the Trick-or-Chata. The last option utilizes horchata as its milk base while the first employs a banana cold foam.
Note: This is an incredibly incomplete list. Results are best gained by personal exploration of local coffee shops.

There’s a new wine in town.
Partner & Grapes, a Latina-owned winery based out of Fort Mill, expanded into Greenville Sept. 17 adding several local retailers to its roster, including:
- 19 Wine and Spirits
- Liquor and Wine World
- Harvard’s Spirits
- Foxcroft Wine Co.
- Rudy’s House of Spirits
- Noble Vice Wine
Owner, Mary Anna Ossa is Venezuelan-born with Spanish roots, just like her wines. While the business is based out of Fort Mill, the wines are made in Penedès, a wine region in Catalonia, Spain. The business carries a total of four wines, all of which are multi-varietals except for one. The single-varietal white wine is made using xarel-lo grapes indigenous to the area.
