Residence Inn/SpringHill Suites in downtown Greenville is recruiting for its Holiday Gingerbread Exhibit, in search of 50 amateur and professional bakers for each category.
The winning gingerbread house will receive $350 plus a $50 gift card to King Arthur Baking Co. King Arthur held its first pop-up shop on Main Street in 2023.
The houses will be on display from Dec. 4-25 at the hotel, 200 E. Washington St., with an application deadline of Oct. 28.
The competition has a few guidelines:
- A holiday theme is required.
- The entry must be edible (except lights) and be made up of at least 75% gingerbread for its frame.
- The competition is not limited to houses or buildings for gingerbread construction.
- Competitors can enter as individual participants or up to groups of three.
- The dimensions can’t exceed 2 feet in width, height or length.
