Next season’s Peace Broadway Season brings back favorite blockbusters from the past such as Disney’s “The Lion King” and “Hamilton” while introducing Upstate audiences to current hits like “Shucked,” “& Juliet,” “Kimberly Akimbo” and “Back to the Future: The Musical.”
Rounding out the season of 10 shows is “A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical,” “Moulin Rouge! The Musical,” “Some Like It Hot” and “Life of Pi.”

“The energy this Peace Broadway Season carries is astounding,” said Peace Center president and CEO Megan Riegel. “The titles we have curated are among the most popular, creative and award-winning shows on Broadway today. The convenience of experiencing such exceptional entertainment right here at home is a tremendous value to our community.”
“The Lion King” returns for a three-week run while both “Hamilton” and “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” will offer two weeks of shows. Other shows will be in Greenville for week-long runs.
“The Lion King” and “Hamilton” enjoyed sold-out houses the last time they came to the Peace Center. The other eight shows are coming to the Peace Center for the first time.

With a total of 14 weeks of Broadway shows, next season represents one of the longest Broadway series schedules in Peace Center history.
“Each show is wonderfully unique and equally extraordinary,” said Heather Hough, the Peace Center’s vice president of marketing. “From sheer creative ingenuity to brilliant musical scores and superb casting, each show offers an amazing Broadway experience.”
Here’s the 2024-25 Broadway Season lineup, sponsored by the Gibbs Cancer Center:
- Disney’s “The Lion King” (Sept. 11-29). The entire Serengeti comes to life in this Tony Award-winning show for the whole family, with music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice.
- “& Juliet” (Oct. 15-20). With a playlist of pop anthems, the musical “& Juliet” flips the script on the greatest love story ever told, asking what would happen if Juliet had not ended it all over Romeo.
- “A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical” (Jan. 14-19, 2025). Created in collaboration with Neil Diamond himself, the musical tells the story of how a kid from Brooklyn became a chart-busting American rock icon. Included are Diamond’s big hits like “America” and “Sweet Caroline.”
- “Hamilton” (Feb. 4-16, 2025). The epic saga follows Founding Father Alexander Hamilton as he fights for honor, love and a legacy that would shape the course of a nation. With book, lyrics and music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the musical won 11 Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for drama.
- “Shucked” (March 11-16, 2025). The Tony Award-winning musical, which begins in a small, corn-loving town, has been called one of the funniest comedies on Broadway.
- “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” (April 15-27, 2025). Baz Luhrmann’s film comes to the stage in an eye-popping spectacle of glitz and grandeur that celebrates truth, beauty, freedom and — above all — love.
- “Back to the Future: The Musical” (May 13-18, 2025). The classic movie about a teen, Marty McFly, who finds himself transported back in time to 1955 comes to the stage with an original score as well as several songs from the film.
- “Some Like It Hot” (June 10-15, 2025). Set in Chicago, the musical based on the classic film follows two musicians who must flee the Windy City after witnessing a mob hit. The show has been praised as a dazzling song-and-dance spectacle.
- “Life of Pi” (July 8-13, 2025). Based on a novel that sold more than 15 million copies, “Life of Pi” follows a 16-year-old boy named Pi who survives a shipwreck on a lifeboat with four companions — a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan and a royal Bengal tiger.
- “Kimberly Akimbo” (Aug. 5-10, 2025). The Tony Award-winner for best musical tells the story of a teen celebrating her 16th birthday as she deals with family dysfunction and a rare genetic condition. The New Yorker called it a “howlingly funny heartbreaker of a show.”
Meanwhile, four shows remain in the current season: “Clue,” “Peter Pan,” “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “Mamma Mia!” The Peace Center expects to welcome as many as 200,000 theatergoers in the current season.
